Freeride World Tour St. Moritz - Review

The second stop is done. I had a really cool line, but couldnt stomp my backflip at the top, but went after that for a huge and really sketchy cliff in the end. Just check it out...

 Quote:
"When speaking to the riders following the face check, many of them told us that they would probably avoid throwing tricks and instead focus on riding fast, smooth lines. However, that message didn't seem to get communicated to Basti Hannemann who set the tone for the day with a big backflip straight out of the gate. Although the young German came up short and crashed, he continued his line and finished it off with a fat 15- to 20-meter drop bringing the crowd at the mid-station to its feet. Basti told us, "At least I didn't take a sissy line like I did in Chamonix [last weekend]."

Yeah, think that was a really good revenge for the Chamonix comp... vids coming soon.

Freeride World Tour Chamonix 2011 - Results

Honestly, i skied pretty bad today... or maybe i just picked a wrong line. Couldn't ski as fast as i wanted, cause so much sluff went down the venue. Stomped my cliffs, but the rest sucked! So pretty pissed right now... ended up 15th. But the good thing is, that i didn't crash which makes me more confident for the next comps... and there are still some more to come. But that's life. It doesn't always work out like i want to!
Think i'll upload my helmet cam run later.
So coming to the Results:
The local Aurelien Ducrouz won in front of Adrien Courier and Reine Barkered.

Freeride World Tour Chamonix 2011

Heyy guys,
just got back from the bib draw. Lots to do the last to days... Media stuff is increasing at the moment. So much too do. But a good thing that the sport gets better known by the time.
So the comp was postponed to sunday, cause conditions are horrible in Chamonix and the organisers had to search for a new venue... So they decided to switch to the italien side of the mountain to Courmayeur. Obviously conditions are really good over there. Just have a look at the venue... really sick Big Mountain terrain!

So coming back to my bib: I'm third last skier, bib number 31. But who cares ;)
Inspection will be tomorrow morning, comp on sunday. and we get heli lifted to have access to the venue... really looking forward to that.
Attached some impressions of Chamonix... such a good place to be! Huge mountains, nice people. Stay tuned for the next days...
Cheers,
Seb

BMW

Heyy guys,
probably one of the best news ever.
Just started a cooperation with BMW.
So stoked bout that!
They support me in the future so that i dont have to worry bout how to get safe to my destination :)

So far,
relaxing at the moment at La Clusaz... some skiing the next days and goin' to Chamonix at the 20th.
stay tuned for more news,
Cheers,

La Clusaz Final

Heyy guys,
so back in the hotel... not too happy but good that i'm safe at the bottom.
I crashed right after the start, cause i went too fast into a frozen avalanche.
But anyways, the rest of my line was ok. It was very icy, but sometimes you have to ride on this conditions.
You can check out the results later on:
But there are still some good news... the German connection made it to the podium.
Aline Bock won the snowboardes comp, Pia Widmesser and Tom Leitner (really nice cork 3) ended up 3rd. So there are still some reason for partying tonight :)
I'll stay in La Clusaz till Thursday, driving to Chamonix for the first World Tour Stop after.
Now its getting interesting :)
Cheers,
B

La Clusaz 4* World Qualifier

Heyy guys,
so I arrived last night at La Clusaz for the World Qualifier. So late, cause I had a Uvex teammeeting in Mayrhofen the last 2 days... super much fun there, but also a stressful 8h drive to France!
Anyways, I only inspected the venue bout 5 minutes this morning and decided to take it really easy, trying to ski fast and fluid and not hurting myself in the beginning of the season.
So I managed it to qualify for tomorrow. The final Face is pretty sketchy. Conditions are changing from icy to crusty, so it'll be kind of tricky to ski.
Attached some photos, think i'll ski from starting point D2 tomorrow...

More news tomorrow,
Have fun & take care!
Cheers,
B
